Synthetic Wig Care Tips

Only the finest Slavic hair is used in our extensions. Its naturally fine and silky texture makes it highly sought after in the extensions industry, easily matching the client’s hair in color, movement, and consistency. Furthermore, due to our strict standards and procedures, the Slavic hair we acquire is completely untreated and unprocessed, ensuring the cuticle remains intact.

1. Tangling and Matting:

My Experience: I remember constantly battling tangles, especially at the nape. It was frustrating until I discovered the trick.

My Tip: I found that gentle daily brushing with a wide-tooth comb works wonders. And if you come

across those stubborn knots, a wig-specific detangler is a lifesaver!

2.Loss of Shine:

My Experience: Over time, I noticed my wig losing its signature shine. It felt dull and lacked that fresh-out-of-the-box glow.

My Tip: I switched to wig-specific shampoos and limited product use. The change was almost immediate!

3. Styling Limitations:

My Experience: I once made the mistake of using a straightener. Trust me, it’s not pretty when synthetic

fibres melt!

My Tip: There are heat-friendly synthetic wigs out there. If you’re keen on switching up styles, they’re worth the investment. Also you can use a steamer which not only bring the wig back to life it also lets you style it.

4. Build-up of Residue:

My Experience**: After using some of my regular hair products, my wig felt heavy and greasy.

My Tip: Stick to wig-specific products. They’re formulated for a reason, and the difference is palpable.

5. Colour Fading:

My Experience: My once vibrant wig started looking faded after a summer of outings.

My Tip: Store it away from direct sunlight. And if you’re out and about on sunny days, a stylish hat does

double duty: protection and fashion!

6. Fibre Breakage:

My Experience: I’ve had those moments of pulling too hard and watching the fibres snap.

Heartbreaking!

My Tip: Handle your wig like fine lace. No pulling or rough treatment. It really extends its life.

7. Static:

My Experience: Winter months turned my wig into a static nightmare!

My Tip: A touch of wig conditioner or a gentle mist of water can keep those static flyaways at bay.

8. Odour Accumulation:

My Experience: After a night around a campfire, my wig smelled like smoke for days.

My Tip**: Regularly airing out your wig and a spritz of wig-friendly spray keeps it as fresh as day one.

9. Difficulty in Washing:

My Experience: I once used my regular shampoo on my wig, and it was a disaster. The texture was

never the same.

My Tip: Wig shampoos exist for a reason. Swish gently in cold water, pat dry, and you’re golden!

10. Proper Storage

My Experience Storing my wig improperly once led to a permanent kink.

My Tip: Invest in a good wig stand or wig head. It’s a game-changer for maintaining its shape.

Trust me, with a bit of care and attention, your synthetic wig can be a long-lasting and radiant companion. Happy wig-wearing! 🌟

Synthetic Wig Shampoo

When it comes to maintaining the vibrancy and shine of synthetic wigs, I’ve learned that not all products are created equal. And sometimes, that journey of discovery involves a few hair-raising (pun intended!) experiences. Let me share my insights on wig shampoos and leave-in conditioners:

Wig Shampoos

During my initial days of wig-wearing, I naively thought any shampoo would do. After all, hair is hair, right? Wrong! Using a regular shampoo left my wig lacklustre. It was only when I made the switch to wig-specific shampoos that I truly noticed the transformation.

Why They’re Different: Wig shampoos are specially formulated for synthetic fibres. Unlike regular shampoos that strip away natural oils, wig shampoos gently cleanse without being harsh. They are designed to reintroduce that gorgeous, original shine that drew you to your wig in the first place.

Look for wig shampoos with shine-enhancing properties. These are often enriched with ingredients that reflect light, giving your wig a radiant and natural appearance. Using these shampoos once a week or whenever your wig feels dull can keep it gleaming!

Leave-in Conditioner

If wig shampoos are the unsung heroes, then leave-in conditioners are the secret weapon! I was skeptical at first, but once I tried a wig-friendly leave-in conditioner, I was sold. Not only did it enhance shine, but it also dramatically reduced tangles, which for me was a massive win.

Benefits Galore: Leave-in conditioners for wigs act as a dual agent. Firstly, they add a protective layer that reflects light, immediately boosting the wig’s sheen. Secondly, they act as detanglers.

The conditioner smoothens out the synthetic fibres, allowing them to slide past each other without knotting.

After washing, lightly spray or apply the leave-in conditioner while your wig is still damp. Comb it through gently, ensuring even distribution. Once your wig dries, you’ll notice a lustrous shine and significantly fewer tangles.

Through trial, error, and plenty of research, I’ve come to realise that the right products genuinely make a world of difference in synthetic wig care. Invest in them, and your wig will reward you with a lasting, radiant beauty that turns heads wherever you go!

While specific shampoos and leave-in conditioners are essential pillars in synthetic wig care, there’s another secret tool that’s taken my wig maintenance game to a whole new level: the steamer. Here’s why a steamer is virtually my wig’s best mate:

Restyling With A Steamer

I once believed that the style I purchased my synthetic wig in was the style I was stuck with. How wrong I was! With the help of a steamer, I’ve managed to gently tweak and modify the style, giving my wig a fresh look without any damage.

The Magic Touch: Unlike traditional heat tools that can melt or warp synthetic fibres, a steamer provides gentle, even heat. This allows the fibres to be malleable enough to restyle while ensuring they aren’t harmed.

My Tip: If you’re looking to restyle, use the steamer in conjunction with rollers or curling rods. The steam allows the synthetic fibres to set in the desired shape as they cool down.

Detangling with Moisture:

My Experience: Knots and tangles can be pesky, especially in longer wigs. I’ve found that using a steamer in tandem with a wide-tooth comb can work wonders in loosening those stubborn knots.

How it Works: The steam gently softens the fibres, making them more pliable and easier to detangle. It’s almost like giving your wig a spa day!

Reintroducing Moisture:

Over time, synthetic wigs can feel a bit dry or coarse. I was amazed at how a steamer could breathe life back into my wig, making it feel soft and new again.

Revitalisation: The moisture from the steam helps revitalise the synthetic fibres, adding a touch of softness and sheen. It’s almost akin to a deep conditioning treatment but tailored for synthetic wigs.

Once you’ve steamed your wig, let it air dry naturally. This ensures that all the moisture is locked in, and the fibres set in their rejuvenated state.

In my journey, the steamer has become an indispensable tool, an ally in ensuring my synthetic wigs remain as dazzling and versatile as the day I got them. If you’re serious about wig care, consider investing in a good steamer; you’ll thank yourself later!

Certainly! Here’s a comprehensive step-by-step guide to washing, conditioning, and restyling your synthetic wig with steam:
